Lesson goal: Coaxing pi from the computer

Previous: Make cool polar plots | Home | Next: Rotate a parabola

This is a simple lesson, to see what formula you can tell the computer, tha when evaluated, will give $\pi (=3.1415..)$. The easiest one we can think of is $\pi=4\tan^{-1}(1)$. What other formulas can you think of?

Now you try. What formula can you think of (or find, figure out, etc.) that will give $\pi$ when evaluated?
